PAYING PROPERTY TAXES & THE EXCHANGE RATE:
            When paying property taxes, be sure to verify the US to CA exchange rate.  The Minister of Finance conducts its business with the Royal Bank of Canada 506  466-2127.  It will send your US check to that bank, receive confirmation of its Canadian value, and apply it to your payment.  Please note that this rate is not the same as the rate that you can request from the Canadian Customs Station.(By calling
1-800-461-9999 from Canada or 1-204-983-3500 from the U.S).    It is usually higher which may account for shortages in payment requiring a follow-up bill requesting additional money.
